Protecting 40,000 jobs and an industry worth £1.2bn at the time to the Kent economy saw Maxim called upon to support KCC’s Economic Development Unit, to fight back against the devastating impact of the Foot & Mouth outbreak in 2001.
There was an urgent need to tell local residents that the county’s tourism attractions were ‘open for business’ over the Easter holidays. The coordinated campaign, developed by Kent Tourism, detailed lists of tourist attractions open and events being held during the holiday. It worked in partnership with the Kent Messenger’s What’s On publication, on the internet at www.kenttourism.co.uk and via the tourism helpline.
