Manston Airport welcomes world’s largest passenger plane

15 July 2013

On this day in 2013, Manston Airport welcomed the world’s largest passenger plane – the Airbus A380. Thanks to the length of the runway, the plane was able to use the airport for landing and take-off training ahead of it going into service for British Airways in 2016 as part of a £5bn investment.

As part of our work for the airport’s owners, Maxim handled the media on the day and even provided footage of the landing for one of the main broadcasters thanks to an early iPhone.
