Maxim joins board of Chamber

January, 2015

A new Economic Development Group for West Kent is being set up to represent the views of local businesses in Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks.

Maxim’s Andrew Metcalf will take the lead in establishing the new body in his role as a newly appointed director of Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce.

Jo James, Chief Executive of Kent Invicta Chamber, said: “We’re obviously delighted to appoint Andrew to the board as he understands the issues facing business in the county. I am sure he will play an important role in supporting our growing membership in West Kent.”

Andrew Metcalf added: “As we emerge from recession it is vital that local firms get access to the best possible business support and advice. Kent Invicta Chamber is perfectly placed and well experienced in helping businesses improve their efficiency and growth.

“We also need to shout more about the challenges facing West Kent businesses in order to persuade local and national politicians to back West Kent and make the most out of the companies already here with the potential for growth.”

The Chamber will shortly begin establishing the Economic Development Group and is calling on businesses from across Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells to participate.

Andrew Metcalf also represents Kent businesses on the South East Local Enterprise Partnership and the Kent & Medway Economic Partnership.

Accredited by the British Chambers of Commerce, Kent Invicta Chamber supports businesses from its offices in Ashford and Maidstone and has more than 1,200 members in the county.
