Maxim launches the Kent Press & Broadcast Awards

October, 2014

Maxim is launching a new awards scheme for the Kent media.

The Kent Press & Broadcast Awards will recognise the skills and expertise of the county's journalists – whether they work in print, online, TV or radio.

Judged by an independent panel of editorial experts, there are 12 categories covering everything from specific campaigns and features through to design, social media, sport and online news.

Philip Jones, Director at Maxim, said: “We work with journalists every day and know they don’t always get the recognition they deserve. We are very excited to be launching an awards scheme that will showcase the very best of Kent’s journalistic skills.

“We enjoy a good relationship with the county’s media – which is exactly how a PR agency should operate – and are confident the scheme will be well received.”

Calling Kent businesses

“We have created a dedicated website that will not only make it easy for entrants to get all the information they need but will profile the sponsors which will make the scheme possible,” added Philip.

“The team is currently working hard behind the scenes and hopes to officially launch the awards in the next few weeks. Keep an eye on the website and our social media channels for more updates.”

The winners of the awards will be announced at a ceremony in summer 2015 with one finalist being named Kent Journalist of the Year.

Sponsors will be associated with one of the 12 categories, assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
